is there a credit guru out there? R there any good dept consolidation companies out there that are nonprofit?

i am over my head with credit card bills. i dont know what to do.
i was thinking on contacting one of does credit relief companies that willl talk tomy creditors and cram all my bills in to one and mabe help reduce my interest rate. the fact is that i am a litle concern that i may be scam and end up deeper in death. is there a way to know wich one of this agencies really help? and which agency they are.
when i talk to them what questions should i ask in order to find out if they are a scam or not.
if i pay off my dept by a consolidation agency, would this affect my credit???

Contact Consumer Credit Counseling Services at 1-800-388-2227 they are the largest and oldest consumer credit counseling service in the nation and will work with your creditors to lower your interest rates and monthly payments and they are non-profit.

I used them several years ago and was debt free in 36-months.

While you are in their program your accounts will read as “Included in credit counseling” after you finish this notation will be removed. This will not affect your score but it will affect your ability to get more credit.

At the end of the program your score will be much better due to being out of debt and having a great payment history.

I need to lock my credit, because I suspect fraud. How do I do it?

I recently purchased a new vehicle. I gave the dealership permission to pull an inquiry on my credit report. They agreed to pull only one inquiry. I am a member of a credit monitoring service offered by transunion. I recieved an alert and found 5 new inquiries to my credit. I investigated and found one inquiry to be the finance department at car dealership, the one I agreed to. The 4 other inquiries are unknow, unapproved, and from financial institutions I have not permitted to pull inquiry. I was able to lock my credit with the membership to transunion. Now I need to do similar with experian and equifax. How do I do this without paying for subscription to each of the other two agencies? What can I do to have the fraudulent inquiries removed and investigated? Advice is appreciated- Thanks.

You are probably overreacting. The dealer was just getting financing offers from different banks in the lender network it deals with. That’s the way dealer financing works. They are not “fraudulent inquiries” and the cluster of inquiries only “counts” as one credit application.

However, if you insist, the process is called a “credit freeze” – not a “lock.” Each credit bureau has it’s own procedure and you must do it separately with each. See their respective websites. No “subscription” is required – however, there is a small one-time fee.

What do you pay for when you buy/own a dog?

So I’m going to be getting my very first dog. It’s going to be an Italian Greyhound, I’ve been wanting one since I was 15. Now it’s 4 years later, and now that I have a job, I’m pretty sure I can afford to get the dog. I’ve also been doing research on this particular breed for over a year now, and yes, I can attend to this dogs individual needs, and I know most of what to expect from this breed.

As this is your first dog, figure in obedience training classes.

Also need to factor in heartworm preventative, worming medication, and flea preventative.

If you live in a climate with cold winters, your dog will need a warm jacket for walks- this breed has a very thin coat and difficulty coping with cold weather.

If you purchase rather than adopting from a shelter or rescue, you’ll have a series of puppy vaccines that will need to be given in the first 6 months, as well as spay/neuter to think about.

You absolutely will need a vet check right away when you get the dog to identify and treat any issues, and take care of any needed worming, vaccines, etc.

And always have an “emergency fund” with at least a couple thousand dollars in case of accident or serious injury.

Should I keep my high apr credit card?

I have 3 major credit cards. My 29.99% apr credit card has a 16 year history with me & a credit limit of over $10000. My other 2 credit cards I have had for only a year or two & have an apr of 15.5% & 15.9% with a much lower credit limit of about $3000 each. Should I close out my high apr credit card or will it damage my credit history ?
Does the high apr affect the fico score?

Keep it but don’t use it. (Or just pay it off every month to avoid interest charges).

Part of your score comes from the longevity of your oldest account, so I wouldn’t want to close it out.

I bought a new car and traded in a car with a salvage title. The dealer wants to sue me. Does he have a case?

I asked a question similiar to this a few weeks ago, but I now have new information. To those that have not read my first question I will retell the story. I bought a new nissan on 5/29. I traded in a car that had a ny salvage title written right across the front of it. Six weeks later the dealer sent me a letter telling me I committed a serious offense. I contacted DMV and they informed me I had not. The dealer now wants to be compensated in the amount of 1,000. He painted some of the car and has had it in his possession for over six weeks. I talked to him yesterday and he says if I don’t pay him he will take me to court and win. He says he has done this several times and won.In the meantime I contacted the dealer that sold me the car with the salvage title and told him he never informed me when I bought the car that is was salvage. He said he did verbally, which is a lie. It was not on the bill of sale. What would you do if you were in situation?Thanks for your advice.

You need to look on your buyers order. There is a section where you initial stating that your car is not a salvage, rebuilt, or flood vehicle. If you signed it, then he might have a case. If you didn’t, which many dealers forget to have the customer initial, then its his word against yours. I’m not a lawyer, so you may want to consult one, however I have seen this happen a couple times, so check your buyers order.

It will be labeled:
‘Trade-In Certification: The Customer certifies his trade-in vehicle has never been titled under a State or Federal “Brand”, such as “Defective”, “Rebuilt”, “Salvage”, “Flood”, etc_______’

Big Cache or Fast Processor for a Microsoft SQL 2000 Database?

Which is better? A Quad Xeon 900 with 2MB Cache or Quad Xeon 1.5G with 1MB Cache for a MSSQL 2000 DB Server? I have heard rumblings that more cache is good for database servers, but I can’t find a logical answer to if a faster processor negates the cache. The boxes are Dell 6450 and 6650 respectively. I wish to use this in an enviornment that will perform lots of read and writes. It is connected to a telephony application that performs lots of lookups (rates, credits, etc) and 1/2 the number of writes. Also there is a front end application.
