I was at a bar with a bunch of people I knew but was not close with. I bought a girl in the group a drink because she forgot her credit card. Turns out that one drink i got her pushed her over the edge and caused her to become wasted (she prepartied way too hard apparently). Now her friends say I tried to get her drunk to take advantage of her.
I think it is wrong that her friends are spreading it about me and calling me a sketch behind my back. Buying someone ONE drink (which she would have bought herself if she had the means to do so) does NOT constitute getting them drunk, much less taking advantage of them.

My card had a $500 limit, my balance is $700. If the account is now closed, how can I get charged with over-the-limit fees?
As long as your balance is over the limit you will continue to accrue interest, fees and penalties as if the account were open. Once you balance is below your limit you shouldn’t receive any penalties or fees but you will still have to pay the interest. So depending on how high the interest is you may have to pay more then the minimum payment to keep you balance under the $500.00 limit. I would pay this off as quickly as possible b/c you are starting at 700.00 if you pay the minimum or just over by the time it is paid off that $700 will turn into much more.
For Example if your interest rate is 18% and you pay a minimum payment of 4%(typical of some cards) it will take you 6 years to pay it off and you would pay a total of $1035 and that is without fees, penalties etc…it would more then likely be far greater. Good luck, but with credit cards they can pretty much do whatever they want.
